What you seek after (is) within you

Spent Tuesday evening with Mr Vickers, it was great to see him for the first time in ages. I find it is extremely grounding to hangout with one of ‘the others’. We talked about all sorts of things, an eclectic and erratic conversation. If you listened to my podcast a while back on the synesthesia I have – where conversations have shapes and ‘materiality’ then you’ll know that I had a wild ride, a good conversation with someone is extremely pleasurable.

I went up and down the river a few times this week in to K-town too. It’s amazing how fast the autumn is turning. But the old man looked truly lovely the other day, the sailing club were out on the river and it was just great. check it out:

I had to get out the house as the folks who live upstairs have been having our hallway re-decorated and its been full of loud and erratic builders right outside the front door all week.

In other news Eve and I have been working on our big holiday trip plans for next year but were stuck a blow by Norwegian air cancelling the route we had booked our outbound flight on. So we might have to move/rebook the whole thing. Glad we didn’t buy the business class return flights from Perth already.

Also I’m sorting out my taxes. It sucks.

Episode 22 – Handprints and Maps

This week I remind you all I’m speaking on Land As Platform at TERRA FICTION as part of codedmatters.nl on the 27 September 2018. Criticise blockchain thinking, then talk briefly about John Barrell’s notion of Circular Geography.

You can subscribe to Permanently Moved in itunes: permanentlymoved.online/itunes  or search in all your favourite podcatchers.

The Ministry

I’ve been moving forward with some fiction writing this week. Came up with an idea around how people on UBI have to do jury service like work two weeks a year, in the case of the MC it’s a fintech exec working on the Thames Estuary picking up rubbish at low tide where an old rubbish dump is eroding into the sea. Next door is a frantic garbage mining operation trying to clear the 1980’s rubbish dump.

I’m about 2.5k words in to an article on Blockchain project problems it’ll be up on medium once a friend has given it a once over.

Book recommendations mentioned last week are coming. Got side tracked by the blockchain article.
